Student Subsidy

Medical/Dental Student Subsidy Information & Instructions

The AMEN board generously offers a subsidy to currently enrolled medical and dental students (& their spouse) to attend the AMEN annual conference in Hilton Head Island, SC October 30 – November 2, 2025.  The board is committed to mentoring young physicians and dentists so they can begin their careers not only as medical professionals but as true medical evangelists right from the beginning.

Requirements

AMEN’s goal is to teach you how to become medical evangelists.  We are confident that you will respect the board’s generosity by attending the meetings while at the AMEN conference.  However, due to past no shows and last-minute cancellations that cost AMEN thousands of dollars, you must do the following in order to qualify for the subsidy:

  1. Be a currently enrolled medical/dental student at an accredited medical/dental school.*+
  2. Be committed to medical evangelism and the mission of AMEN and the Seventh-day Adventist church.
  3. Be/become an AMEN member. Please join during the registration process using the link below. (Student membership is only $25 and it lasts the entire time you’re in school!).
  4. Apply for the student subsidy – this is done during the registration process by selecting the student subsidy registration type.  You will be fully registered (including lodging and meals) once the application is approved.
  5. Apply by Sunday October 5, 2025.
  6. Pay a REFUNDABLE $100 deposit. Your deposit will be refunded by November 20, 2025 UNLESS you do not show up or if you cancel AFTER October 16, 2025.
  7. Sabbath Only Attendance – We hope most medical/dental students will be able to attend the entire conference.  However, if you will only be able to attend on Sabbath and do NOT need lodging – you do NOT need to complete the entire subsidy application and pay the deposit. Instead, you can complete this simple form and indicate which meals you would like to join us for.

Subsidy Inclusions – for medical/dental student and their spouse:

  • Conference Registration
  • Meals Served at the Conference
  • Lodging
  • Complimentary Parking

Exclusions:

  • Transportation
  • Incidentals at the hotel (such as room service)
  • Girlfriend/boyfriend/fiancé
  • Child registration/meals (Children are welcome to attend and stay in the room with their parents. However, they DO need to be registered (to obtain a discounted rate please use the discount code resident.  This will give you 50% of the child rates.)

*Note AMEN has limited funds for student subsidies therefore, subsidies are approved on a first come first serve basis as long as all requirements are met.

+AMEN wishes we could provide subsidy for all healthcare students but due to limited funds we are only able to provide subsidy for currently enrolled medical/dental students.  However, we ARE committed to mentoring ALL healthcare students so we would like to offer all healthcare students 50% off registration.  Please email [email protected] for instructions.  We hope students in a variety of healthcare fields will join us this year as we come together to learn how to share Christ and be inspired through testimonies of being ‘Touched By Grace‘.

Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] if you have questions. We look forward to seeing you in Hilton Head Island. God bless you as you work and study for Him!

College Student – Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Subsidy Information & Instructions

We are excited to announce that the AMEN board is adding a dozen slots for pre-med/pre-dent college students to attend the AMEN annual conference in Hilton Head Island, SC October 30 – November 2, 2025.  The board is committed to mentoring young physicians and dentists so they can begin their careers not only as medical professionals but as true medical evangelists right from the beginning.

Most of the criteria for medical/dental students listed above applies to pre-med/pre-dent except:

  • Since the slots are extremely limited, no spouses will be covered.
  • To help determine who receives the limited subsidy slots, AMEN is asking that college students watch the AMEN conference student promotional video (at the top of this page), then write a paragraph (500 words or less) answering the following: ‘What sparked your interest in your chosen field? After watching the promotional video, how do you think attending an AMEN conference could impact your future as a care provider?’
  • Preference will also be given to those that are willing to share their experience/testimony after the conference (could be back at your university and/or for an AMEN publication/video).

Trainee – Medical/Dental/Optometry Resident Subsidy Information & Instructions

Because the AMEN Board is passionate about training young people, we are also offering a few resident subsidy slots this year.  Medical/Dental Residents have always received 50% off and will continue to receive that but if you feel the registration fee provides a financial strain, feel free to apply for the resident subsidy.

Most of the criteria for medical/dental students listed above applies to resident subsidy except:

  • Residents are responsible for paying for their own lodging.  AMEN only covers registration (which includes conference meals).
